17 Nov Turmeric Round Roast
This slow cooker turmeric round roast is super delicious and tender and basically falls off “the bone” if there was a bone! 😉 This is great for meal prep or a meal that you want to be ready and warm when you get home from work.
All you need to do is throw everything in the crockpot! I highly recommend marinating the round roast the night before and then placing it in the crockpot before you head out the door in the morning. Bam, you have a nice warm hearty and healthy meal to serve your family for dinner. Love dishes like these because they make for wonderful leftovers.
We served this with the classic mashed potatoes + roasted broccoli, but is versatile with so many other side dishes. Carrot fries and a big side salad would be delicious too!.
What Are The Benefits of Turmeric?
In the Journal of Natural Science, Biology, and Medicine, there was a study done that explained the therapeutic effects that turmeric has on the body.
It’s special healing property comes from curcumin, which is an active constituent in it. The curcumin can inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi, and parasites, so it’s a known antimicrobial. It can also help increase heart health in a positive way by lowering triglyceride levels and inhibiting platelet aggregation, which helps improve cardiovascular circulation.
It’s also a strong antioxidant that kills free radicals in your body. Turmeric brings the strength back in the cells to promote cellular resistance to damage the free radicals may cause. My favorite benefit from ingesting turmeric is the property of it being anti-mutagenic, AKA fights against cancer.
