Stubborn Weight Loss

I am so glad that you’re here – struggling with stubborn weight loss is tough! I know how frustrating it can be when you have this vision of yourself and how you feel, how you look, and then all of a sudden you’re doing things and why is nothing working? You want to pull your hair out. We have so many women that come to us in our practice in that same situation over and over again and it can be really frustrating. It makes you want to give up and it makes you not want to have hope and maybe you just feel like, “Okay, maybe I’m just stuck this way.”

What I want to do and why you’re here and why I’m doing this video for you is I want to give you hope, because a lot of the times it’s not just the simple – “let’s eat less and overexercise.” There are things that are happening in our body that’s not allowing your body to lose weight.

Stubborn weight loss, I always like to remind women is that it’s a symptom. It’s a symptom. It’s a symptom of something not right, something is not balanced. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy. It could just be a simple tweak here or there. But I’m sure you’ve tried years and years throwing stuff to the wall and seeing what sticks and if after a while it doesn’t happen, you want to give up hope. So what I want to cover in this video are some ways that maybe you’re not thinking of that could be affecting your journey to shedding the lbs.

Overexercising and stubborn weight loss

The first thing I kind of mentioned already, it’s over-exercising. A lot of the time we’re overexercising or we’re trying to make up because we had pizza the night before and so we have to work out extra the day after to burn it off. It’s not as simple that way, but overexercising can actually stimulate our stress hormone, cortisol, and it can be really stressful.

Stress

That goes to number two, because stress is another issue that is common that doesn’t allow women to lose weight. You could be stressed looking at your schedule – “I have a really busy schedule, I’m really stressed out from it”, but your body doesn’t know that it’s not running from a tiger. Stress is stress. What your body does is it actually hold onto the weight, because it doesn’t know when you may need it in emergencies. It’s not going to be in the fat-burning mode. It is going to be more in a saving mode. So that’s why overexercising can cause issues, too much stress can cause issues and that leads into other issues.

Hormones

Hormones in general, if they’re not balanced, can cause stubborn weight loss. That can be our stress hormone, cortisol. It could be our sex hormones – our estrogen, progesterone, testosterone. Especially being a woman, we’re going through different cycles. We’re cycling, we’re having our periods. You’re going through peri-menopause and menopause, so many different things that could be happening. It could be hormonal.

Other hormones that really affect weight loss is our thyroid. Hypothyroid is rampant right now. Our thyroid, that’s where a lot of our metabolism is. So if you’re not able to … Well, if it’s sluggish, guess what else is going to be sluggish? You guessed it, weight loss. Then, also there’s our blood sugar and our insulin, how we utilize our glucose and how we use energy in our body. If that hormone relationship isn’t balanced, that can also cause stubborn weight loss. So there’s a lot of hormones, a lot of things that could be happening.

Food Sensitivities

Another thing that could be happening is you feel like you’re eating healthy and you’re like, “I’m having salmon and I’m putting turmeric on it and I’m doing all these healthy things,” but we’re all biochemically different, which is awesome because it makes me, me and you, you. But the issue is, is that a healthy food, blueberries, salmon, turmeric, black pepper, parsley, whatever it is, while it’s a healthy food, it may not work well for your body. It may actually cause inflammation in your body. So knowing exactly what foods jive with you is very important, because you could easily be eating a food that’s just keeping the inflammation on.

Gut Health

Another issue that I see that’s very underlying with stubborn weight loss is that there’s a gut imbalance. I’m sure you’ve heard of gut health all over social media and all over the web, for a good reason. It is where everything starts. It is where we digest our foods, it is where we absorb our nutrients. It’s everything. A lot of the time there could be a yeast overgrowth, bacteria, parasites.

All these things could actually influence our cravings, can influence a lot of things, but definitely weight loss. Not only weight loss, but it can actually cause nutrient deficiencies and then sometimes certain nutrient deficiencies can actually cause your metabolism and how you lose weight to also not be effective.

Emotions

That also can lead into our emotions. Our emotions, where we’re holding things in, can also hold weight in. The mental, the emotional aspect of it can make you crave certain foods, can make you overeat. That really matters too. Never downplay the emotional and mental side of weight loss.

So just to recap, there’s your hormones, there’s your stress, overexercising or under-eating, there’s gut health, there’s your emotions, so many different things. You may look at me like, “Okay. Oh my gosh, there is a lot to focus on, a lot for me to try.” Listen, I don’t want you to throw things to the wall and see what sticks.

You’ve been doing that for years and that’s why you’re here. You’re frustrated, you’re over it. What we do, we’re a team of dietitians and nutritionists and we help women find that bio-individuality and dig into what’s your body telling you. What’s going on in your life? What’s your sleep look like? What’s your stress look like? What do you eat? What do you exercise? What’s your environment look like?

These five things are the foundation to your health and so we want peel back, layer by layer, your beautiful body and see, let see what’s going on. That is why we’re here.

We don’t want you to stress out about all these different things, because we’re just going to take it one step at a time. What we’re going to do is make it simple, we’re going to make it easy-ish. We just want to be there holding your hand, answering the questions that you have and not have you worry about it, but just trust that, okay, we’re looking out for you, we’re here for you and we are just as dedicated as you are. Because we want you to feel good, we want you to feel how you deserve to feel.

Next Steps In Your Weight Journey

So what are the next steps? Basically, I love doing a 15-minute call with you. You book a free 15-minute phone call with me. It’s no pressure, I just want to hear your story. I want to hear your history, just kind of what you’re struggling with, what you’re doing. Details are so awesome, because while it may not seem for you to be a big deal, it can be a big deal and it can give me clues into where this all started and what we need to focus on first. Because while some women come to me, we’re focusing on food sensitivities, some women, we’re looking at hormones. It’s all dependent on you and how we move forward. In that call we just go over a little bit of our packages and which package fits for you. While some women may do well in our two-month package, some might need a little bit more extensive support and accountability through our six-month package.

We are transparent, and you guys can go look at that on the website, but what we want to do is we want to chat with you because not everyone is going to be the same. I just want to learn and hear from you and help you take your next step so we can get over this frustration, we can move on, and you can feel amazing.

You can leave the bloat behind, you can gain the energy, you can lose the weight and get in the smaller swimsuit and pants that you’ve always wanted to, and most of all just build confidence. No matter where you are in your journey, just know this is a journey, you’re going through it, and we want to be right there, side by side with you, doing changes that are not just this fad diet, but lifestyle change for good.

Weight Loss Be-Gone

Go ahead and book your free 15-minute phone call with me and I look forward to seeing you on the other side!
