Are you curious to see if your gut symptoms are truly problematic? In this article, we’ll list through symptoms of bad gut health and if you are nodding your head reading through these, this means that gut health must be top priority of your healthy journey. It all starts in the gut!
Symptoms of Bad Gut Health
Chronic Bloating
Nothing feels worse than feeling bloated and your pant buttons feeling like they are going to explode off. There are a variety of reasons why bloating can occur + it’s important to uncover the root cause through stool testing. Bloating can come from a microbe imbalance in the gut, lacking enzyme production or stomach acid that affects the way you digest food, being stressed, or eating/drinking too quickly.
It could also be food sensitivities, but usually food sensitivities are triggered by a gut imbalance.
Diarrhea/Constipation
Bowel changes are also symptoms of bad gut health. Look at the Bristol stool chart and if you’re on either end of the spectrum, this is giving you a red flag. Constipation (skipping days going to the bathroom or pebbly poop) can further cause gut issues due to throwing off bacterial balance.
Sometimes it can feel like chicken or the egg situation, but getting your bowels to that perfect type 4 is GOALS!
Smelly Gas
Smelly gas reasons can come from gut balances, such as bacteria, or food malabsorption! Digestive enzymes matter. It could also show food sensitivities or can be a side effect from medication. PSA: if you’re constipated, this can cause smelly gas. It’s like imagine it working around some stubborn stool (yuck!)
Acid Reflux
In our practice, we’ve never ran a clean stool test with people who struggle with acid reflux. There is always something more going on.
Abdominal Cramping
No one has time for abdominal cramping or excessive gas that is causing gas build up that leads to cramping.
