How To Make Adrenal Cocktails


  • A cup of organic fresh orange juice
  • 1-2 tbsp of coconut milk {or original Nutpods}
  • 1 scoop of grass-fed collagen {Been lovin’ on Thrive Market’s brand}
  • Pinch of salt

Additional add-ons: 1/4 tsp cream of tartar (for extra potassium) and/or 1 tsp of plain magnesium powder (for that extra magnesium love your adrenals need to chilllllll)

  • Vitamin C + Potassium – The orange juice provides the body with vitamin C that is needed at a higher amount when stressed. Think of your adrenals just SOAKINNNN up all the vitamin C when the demand is high. You’re at a higher risk nutrient deficiencies when stressed. Orange juice is also a source of potassium.
  • Amino acids – The collagen is a source of amino acids that are a part of the creation of neurotransmitters that is found within the adrenal gland, like norepinephrine and epinephrine.
  • Sodium – The additional sodium can help a low functioning adrenal gland because when cortisol is low – salt regulation is altered. Hence, why a lot of people will actually crave salt with adrenal issues. Salt is one of the biggest electrolytes in the body, hence it’s key for keeping the electrical circuits in the body moving + flowing.

Since orange juice is a carb + you have some protein added by collagen, to balance it out – we want to add a fat source (coconut milk) to keep this cocktail balanced AF. Your blood sugar will thank you!
