Genetics play a huge part of our life and our health. But, is it the end all be all? You’ve heard it time and time again that certain health issues “it runs in my family”. It’s true that genetics play a part of who we are. In this episode, you’ll find out that even though your genetics “gun” may be loaded, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the trigger will be pulled.

Who Is Shelly Sethi?

Dr. Sethi is a board certified family physician with additional fellowship training and board certification in Integrative Medicine and Functional Medicine.  She has studied with Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Tieraona Low Dog, Dr. Mark Hyman and other thought leaders.

She is a national speaker in the field of Integrative Medicine.  She has a special interest in botanical medicine and culinary medicine and teaches cooking classes and workshops in Austin.  She helps her patients achieve health by focusing on sleep, movement, mind-body practices, nutrition, connection to community and spiritual practices. In her practice, she connects the dots for patients between genetics, the environment, lifestyle and the microbiome.

She enjoys the practice of yoga and has studied various methods of meditation for over twenty years.
